How creator earnings work

Every product has a base cost — the blank, printing, packaging, payment processing, shipping and Crayonz's own margin, all inside one number. You can never list below it, so a sale can never lose you money.

Everything you price above that base is yours. There is no listing fee, no subscription, and no commission. Price a design ₹500 above base and you earn ₹500. Price it ₹2,000 above and you earn ₹2,000. What Crayonz makes does not grow as you price higher.

Amounts are rounded down to the whole rupee. Quantity multiplies: someone buying five of your design earns you five times the per-item figure.

Base costs are read live from the catalogue and can change when our print costs do; the exact floor for each product is shown to you at publish time. Once you are signed in, the earnings calculator in your dashboard shows the payout for any price you type.

Your own discount codes come out of your earnings, never out of the base cost. Give ₹100 off and you earn ₹100 less on that sale — never less than zero, and with no fee on any of it. A discount can never take the price below base.

Crayonz sales and promotions do not touch your earnings. If we discount your design in a campaign, we fund it. You are still paid on your full listing price.

The moment a buyer's payment is confirmed — card, UPI, net banking or cash on delivery — the sale is credited to your creator account as a pending earning, and you get a “you made a sale” email. You can see every credited sale, per item, under Earnings in your dashboard.

A pending earning becomes payable on the next Monday payout run. There is no additional holding period, and it does not wait for the order to ship.

If an order is cancelled or refunded, the earning for that sale is reversed. If it was still pending, it simply disappears. If it had already been paid out to you, the amount is deducted from your next payout instead — you are never asked to send money back, and we never send a negative transfer. If a reversal puts your balance below zero, that week is skipped and the balance carries forward until new sales clear it.

Quality problems — print defects, damaged fabric, a wrong size shipped — are replaced or refunded by Crayonz at our cost. Those never reduce your earnings.

Payouts run every Monday through Cashfree, to the Indian bank account or UPI ID you have saved under Payouts. Your net balance has to be at least ₹100; below that it rolls into the following week. Each payout shows up as its own row in your dashboard with its status.

A payout is held, not lost, when any of these is missing:

• Your PAN. Indian tax law requires marketplaces to report seller payouts against a PAN, so we collect it before the first payout rather than after. A missing PAN is the single most common reason a creator's balance grows without moving.
• A bank account or UPI ID in your own name, saved and verified.
• ₹100 of net balance.

International payouts are coming as we roll out worldwide shipping through 2026. Until then, payouts are to Indian accounts only.

TDS. Under section 194-O of the Income Tax Act, an e-commerce operator withholds 1% on payouts to sellers. If you are an individual or HUF with a PAN on file, that applies only to the portion of your payouts above ₹5,00,000 in a financial year — below that, nothing is withheld. Anything withheld is deposited with the tax department against your PAN.

GST. If you are GST-registered, add your GSTIN under payout details and we pay your GST across on top of your earnings. Most creators are under the registration threshold and nothing is added or deducted.

We are not your accountant: your earnings are income and how you declare them is up to you and your adviser.

When someone remixes your listing — reusing your artwork on another product, or using it as a style reference for their own prompt — the new listing credits you as the original. But a sale of that remix currently earns the remixer, not you. We do not yet pay the original creator a share of a remixed sale, and we would rather say so here than let you find out from your dashboard.
