Whether you want one hoodie with your own design on it or a storefront of twenty designs with no stock behind them, the mechanics are the same: a design is placed on a garment, a price is set, and the garment is printed only when someone pays for it. Crayonz runs that loop in India — design studio, marketplace, printing, delivery and payouts in one place.
Why print on demand works in India specifically
The economics of custom apparel in India have been built around bulk: a printer near a college or a market quotes per dozen, and the person ordering carries the risk of sizes nobody wanted and designs nobody bought. Print on demand inverts that. The garment is a blank until an order exists, so a creator can list a design that sells two pieces a month and lose nothing, and a buyer can order one piece without joining a group order.
What made this hard in India until recently was delivery time: a print-on-demand order that takes two weeks loses to the local printer. Crayonz prints and dispatches from within India, so most metro orders arrive in about 3 working days — close enough to a stocked product that buyers do not notice the difference.
For creators: what you actually get paid
Each garment has a wholesale floor — the cost of printing it and delivering it. You set your retail price above that floor, and the difference is yours on every sale. There is no listing fee, no subscription, and no minimum sales target. Publishing a design that never sells costs you nothing but the minute it took.

For buyers: what “made after you order” changes
- Every colour and size is in stock, because nothing is in stock — the blank is chosen when you order.
- Designs can be changed before printing. Open any listing in the studio, remix it, and order your version.
- No cancellation window after the print starts. Printing begins soon after payment; the refund policy covers defects and wrong items, not change of mind once printed.
- Delivery is included on listings, and most Indian metro addresses see the parcel in about 3 working days.

- What is print on demand?
- A garment is printed only after a customer orders it. Nothing is manufactured in advance, so there is no stock to buy, store or write off. On Crayonz a listing is a design plus a garment plus a price; the print run for that listing is exactly the number of orders it receives.
- How much does it cost to start selling?
- Nothing up front. You design in the studio (free) and publish a listing. When it sells, the wholesale cost of the printed garment and delivery is deducted and you keep everything above it. There is no listing fee and no monthly plan.
- What do creators earn per sale?
- You set the retail price above a wholesale floor per garment. The difference is yours — the creator earnings page shows the floor for each garment and a calculator. Payouts go to your bank account once an order settles; see the earnings page for timing.
- Which products are available?
- Classic and oversized t-shirts, acid wash tees, hoodies, zip-up hoodies, sweatshirts, polos and varsity jackets; mugs, sipper bottles and tumblers; posters in six sizes. The same design can be published on several products.
- How fast is delivery in India?
- About 3 working days to most metro addresses after the order is placed, since the piece is printed the same or next day. Remote pin codes take longer. Tracking is emailed to the buyer.
- Who handles printing, packing and returns?
- Crayonz does, through its print partners in India. The creator never touches a garment. Defective or wrong items are reprinted or refunded under the refund policy.
- Is there a minimum order for buyers?
- No. A single piece is a normal order for every listing and every studio design.
